Iztapalapa is one of Mexico City's most violent neighborhoods, especially for women. The sign in front of airline/library reads "Beware, Machismo Kills Forever". The blue gondola above the plane is a way that Mexico City is trying to provide some security for women traveling between different parts of the neighborhood. The Avion Biblioteca is another way the government is trying to provide alternatives to the ongoing poverty and violence.
